GOOD MORNING !! NEW JERSEY

Good morning, New Jersey. While the rest of the country is hitting snooze, the Garden State is already three steps into its day. Here’s how Jersey wakes up — and why no other state does mornings quite like this.

The Diner Is Already Open

New Jersey has more diners than any other state — over 500 of them — and most never really closed. By 6 AM the coffee (cawfee) is hot, the grill is going, and there’s a Taylor ham, egg and cheese with your name on it. The disco fries can wait until lunch. Maybe.

Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese: The Official Breakfast

Call it Taylor ham or pork roll (we know how that debate ends), but the THEC on a hard roll is the undisputed breakfast sandwich of New Jersey. Salt, pepper, ketchup — don’t overthink it. Every deli, bagel shop, and corner store has their version, and everyone has a favorite.

The Commute Begins

By 7 AM, the Turnpike and the Parkway are already filling up. NJ Transit trains are packed shoulder-to-shoulder with people who will defend their morning routine to the death. The jug handle gets its first workout of the day. Someone is already beeping. It’s beautiful.

Bagels Worth Waking For

A real Jersey bagel — boiled, chewy, still warm — with a schmear is worth setting an alarm for. The bagel shops open early and the lines form fast. If you know, you know: nothing outside New Jersey is actually a bagel.

Down the Shore, Mornings Are Different

In the summer, a Jersey morning means the beach before the crowds: coffee on the boards, the smell of salt air, seagulls negotiating over a fry. The early crew gets the best spots and the calmest water. By 10 the beach fills in, and the day officially belongs to summer.

Good Morning, New Jersey

However you start yours — diner booth, deli counter, Parkway on-ramp, or beach chair — there’s no better place to wake up. Drop a ☀️ in the comments and tell us: what’s your Jersey morning ritual?
